I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado.
There is a courage in starting healing work that can be easily skipped over. The strategies we have learned to manage our experiences have worked for us, they got us here. These often show up as signs and symptoms, and they provide valuable information about the intelligence and resilience of our nervous systems. At some point, those strategies may stop working so well or they are not as needed in the present – and we are ready to dip our toes into something new. When we can test the waters of healing work with curiosity, there is an opportunity to embrace the courage, strength, and resilience of the person who got us here. With a strong foundation of felt safety in the therapeutic relationship, we can approach healing and trauma integration with gentleness.
I specialize in complex trauma and support individuals 11+ using body-centered (somatic) approaches, animal assisted intervention, EMDR therapy, parts work, nervous system informed approaches, and some top down (mind) based approaches. I also approach therapy from an intersectional and systems informed lens, appreciating the importance and influence of identity, culture, and systems. Finally, I incorporate nature-based therapeutic practices for those who are interested. I find it important to tailor interventions to the person I am working with, and to highlight their unique strengths as one of the most important tools we have in the therapy space.
I spend my personal time enjoying a mix of my own movement based practices as well as enjoying nature, company, or creative outlets. More often than not, you can find me with my co-worker and professional therapy dog, Lincoln.
